The Grove Inn is a much-loved traditional pub on Back Row in Holbeck, Leeds (LS11 5PL), serving the city since 1832 and home to the oldest folk club in an unchanged venue in the world. Live music runs effectively every night in the 1930s-built Concert Room: Folk Night on Monday (8pm), a Jam Session with PA, backline and instruments provided on Tuesday (7–10pm), Open Mic on Wednesday (8pm), live music Thursday (8:30pm), a live band Friday (8:30pm), a KAKTI session and live band on Saturday (3pm and 9pm), and a live band Sunday afternoon (3pm). All the other rooms are unchanged since the 1930s refit. Around 80 capacity, with a house PA and backline provided on jam nights, welcoming originals and covers across folk, acoustic, blues and rock.

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Grove Inn in Holbeck is one of Leeds' great traditional music pubs - multi-room layout, real fires, hand-pulled beer and a genre-spanning live programme every night of the week. Its open mic, Open Mind, is one of the oldest in the city and runs every Wednesday from 8pm - the pub's own listings show it week in, week out through September 2026. Arrive early - the seats get snapped up quickly on music nights.
Sign-up process
Walk in and put your name down on the night - no advance booking is advertised. If you'd rather jam than play a set, the Tuesday Jam Session (7-10pm) provides PA, backline and instruments.
