Yorkshire Tapas @ The Blues Bar is a Harrogate live-music institution on Montpellier Parade, just a few doors from Betty's Tea Rooms. Spread over two floors and two bars, it specialises in blues and rock and hosts live bands seven nights a week — with three bands on a Sunday — and entry is always free. Downstairs is the music room; upstairs houses the Gin Bar (100+ gins) and the Yorkshire Tapas restaurant, with large booths and a big screen so diners can watch the band. Walls covered in music murals, posters and instruments give it real character (rated around 4.6/5 from 1,200+ reviews). One of the busiest grassroots gig rooms in the region, with a PA and a relentless live schedule.

The Night
The Blues Bar on Montpellier is Harrogate's proper live-music room, with bands on most nights and always-free entry. The open/acoustic spot for performers is the Acoustic Sessions hosted by Martin Rose, every Tuesday from 9pm through to 11.30pm — a long-running fixture currently listed as repeating right through to 29 December 2026. Martin also runs a Monday Jam Night, so there are two nights a week to get up and play. Upstairs is Yorkshire Tapas serving Northern soul food in sharing plates, so you can eat well before you play. Bring your instrument and sign up on the night.
