The Queen Adelaide is a traditional pub at 272 Kingston Road in Ewell, between Epsom and Kingston in Surrey. It is a comfortable neighbourhood local that has become home to one of the area's better-organised acoustic nights.
The Shindig runs on the last Thursday of the month from 8pm. It is an acoustic open mic with a twist - around 14 acts each play two songs, and slots are pre-booked by phoning the pub rather than signing up on the night, so performers are guaranteed their turn.
Entry is free, and the format keeps the evening moving with a steady rotation of local singers, players and the occasional visiting act.
