The Stanley Arms is a family-owned, CAMRA award-winning free house at 47 Wolseley Road, Portslade (BN41 1SS) — just outside central Brighton & Hove. The current owners bought it at auction to save it from developers, reopening in November 2018 after a refurbishment into two rooms served by a central bar. Alongside six regularly rotating real ales (Harvey's Sussex Best plus five guests), it runs regular live music and open-mic events, with sports TV and a Wednesday quiz night. A proper community local with a strong grassroots music streak.

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Stanley Arms is a friendly two-room local in Portslade, just west of Brighton, pouring Harvey's Sussex Best alongside a rotating cast of real ales. Its open mic runs fortnightly on Thursdays from 8:30pm to 11pm in one half of the pub, where a PA is set up and everyone gets two or three songs — with a second turn on quieter nights. It's free to play and to watch, with a warm, unpretentious atmosphere.
