The Bee's Mouth is a cosy, slightly bohemian bar at 10 Western Road on the Brighton–Hove border, specialising in Belgian and world beers and known for its free downstairs cinema room showing classic films. Its intimate basement venue holds around 40 and runs a busy music programme: live music every Monday and Thursday, plus an open-mic night every Wednesday hosted by JJ Symon (sign-ups from 8:30pm, music from 9:30pm). PA, microphones and an in-house guitar are provided with no hire fees, and the room also hosts poetry nights and life-drawing sessions. Both originals and covers are welcome, making it a long-standing grassroots fixture of the Brighton scene.
