The Assembly Inn sits on Alfred Street just off Lansdown Road, a short walk north of Bath city centre. It doubles as one of the city's premier sports bars — four big screens, a projector, two pool tables and a courtyard garden — while its fully fitted cellar bar is the live-music heart of the building. The Inn runs a weekly Tuesday open mic night, hosts gigs and an underground comedy club, and makes the soundproofed cellar available to hire free of charge (conditions apply) for band practice, music events and parties. With a capacity of around 80, it's a relaxed, well-equipped small room for grassroots performers in Bath.
