The Tilted Wig occupies a prominent corner at 55-56 Castle Street on Aberdeen's Castlegate, recently reopened after a £150k revamp that redesigned the interior, expanded the drinks range (including Aberdeen's largest rum selection) and brought food service back. It serves beer and bar food with live sport on the screens and live music among its regular entertainment, plus weekly quiz nights (Thursday and Sunday). The pub has a house PA for performers and a mixed-genre booking policy, welcoming both originals and covers. Open daily 11:00 to 23:00.

The Night
The Tilted Wig on Castle Street faces Aberdeen's historic Castlegate and is a lively city-centre pub best known for sport and quizzes. Its Thursday open mic no longer appears anywhere on the pub's own events: the venue's site now lists weekly quiz nights on Thursday and Sunday (free entry and free nachos on Thursdays, jackpots up to £1,000), live sport on four screens and two dartboards — and no open mic at all. Aberdeen's open-mic directories don't list it either. If you're hoping to play, ring 01224 507623 first in case the night returns.
