About This Open Mic
The Night
The Wheatsheaf (4 Birmingham Road, Walsall, WS1 2NA) is a proper live-music local — open mic on Thursdays, a Jam Night every other Tuesday run by George and Josh where any instrument or style is welcome, a blues night on alternate Wednesdays, bands every Friday and Saturday, and a DJ on Sunday evenings. The Thursday open mic is the spot to bring a few songs; the alternating-Tuesday jam is more of a play-together session. A genuinely music-first pub.
About The Wheatsheaf
The Wheatsheaf is a friendly, open-plan community local at 4 Birmingham Road in Walsall, West Midlands (WS1 2NA) — trading on this site since 1801, once held by historic brewers Allsopp's and Ansells, briefly the Flock & Firkin in the 1990s, and restored in 2007. It serves four real ales (including two changing guests from local brewers) and runs live music most weekends, featuring blues, rock, covers and tribute acts, with a Thursday steak night and a beer terrace out back. A warm, dog-friendly grassroots room that books originals and covers; note the true town is Walsall, not central Birmingham.
