Highlights
What's on Stage
The Dublin Castle has run live music for 50+ years and is one of the most-cited starter venues in London open-mic guides. The Monday night runs 180 minutes from 7:30pm to 10:30pm in the back room (separate from the front bar), with 12 gigs of 15 minutes each. The host calls the running order from the sign-up sheet roughly every 5 minutes, so once you're on the list you get a clear callback time.
Crowd is typically 60-100 people, skewing 25-40, and listens attentively — this is not a chatter-over-the-music pub mic. Most acts are solo songwriters and duos, with 2-3 full bands a week. The in-house engineer (the same one who runs the venue's main bills) handles a proper line check for every act.
Sign-up process
Sign-up sheet goes up at the back bar at 7:00pm sharp. The first 12 slots typically fill within 30 minutes. If you want a guaranteed slot, arrive at 6:45pm, order a drink, and stand near the bar. There is no advance booking, no online sign-up, no email list — walk-in only.
Getting there
The venue is at 94 Parkway, Camden Town, NW1 7AN — 4 minutes' walk from Camden Town Tube (Northern Line, all branches). Buses 24, 27, 31 and 88 stop directly on Parkway.
The pub itself
Full bar runs throughout. Pub food (burgers, fish and chips, vegetarian options) until 9pm. Decent vegan options. The back room is separate from the front bar, so non-music friends can drink without listening if that's their preference. 120 standing capacity back room, ~80 front bar.
