Northern ‌‌‍Guitars is a bar and live-music venue on Call Lane in Leeds city centre (LS1) with a guitar shop upstairs that has traded pre-loved and collectors' guitars since 1989 (and beer since 2017). It's fiercely musician-orientated — 'the first step on the ladder' for many local artists — and works closely with Leeds Conservatoire. On Monday evenings it hosts the popular Northern Guitars Open Mic, run by 'Live In The Hive', where everyone is welcomed and supported; the stage provides two microphones, an in-house guitar, tuners, capos, plectrums and a phone/tablet stand. Live music continues at weekends with laid-back gigs midweek, plus regular visits from touring and local bands. Roughly 60-capacity, intimate room.
