Sela Bar is an intimate basement bar and pizzeria at 20 New Briggate in Leeds city centre, hosting live music several nights a week alongside artisan stone-baked pizzas served until midnight and a beer list of more than thirty bottles from around the world. The programme leans strongly on jazz and world sounds: the Sela Bar Jazz Jam, curated by James Mainwaring, takes over the basement every third Sunday of the month with live music from 9pm followed by an open jam, while reggae outfit Mojah hold a weekly Wednesday residency, and the venue is a regular stop on the Leeds Jazz Festival circuit. Indie, rock, punk and alternative acts also feature. With a standing capacity of around 120 and a reliable PA in place, it suits both original material and covers, and the close quarters keep artists and audiences within arm's reach. Over-18s only.
