Drum & Cymbals on Whitefriargate in Hull's Old Town has local bands playing from 9pm every Friday - a drink-and-singalong night built around Hull's own musicians. On Saturdays, resident musician Keith Newby plays covers from 4pm in Cymbals, at 3 Whitefriargate.
The pub takes its name from an original Drum & Cymbals that stood at the corner of Osborne Street and Great Union Street from 1848 to 1956. Big modern windows outside give way to a traditional wooden bar inside.
After the bands finish, 60s, 70s and 80s music carries on late: the bar is open until 3:30am on Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 11pm the rest of the week.
