Planet Sounds occupies The Arches at 40 Terminus Terrace, beneath Central Bridge in central Southampton (SO14 3FE). Established in 2004 and run by the SoCo Music Project — a Southampton-based music charity — it is principally a rehearsal and recording complex with rooms of all sizes, the largest big enough for a full band or a showcase. It doubles as a live/showcase space for grassroots and emerging artists, hosting events such as the EMERGE Festival (March 2026). A 20-year fixture supporting the city's developing-artist scene rather than a conventional gig bar.
