About Planet Sounds
Planet Sounds is a grassroots music venue in The Arches, under Central Bridge, Southampton. PA system and vocal mics are provided; bring your own instruments and amps.
Planet Sounds occupies The Arches at 40 Terminus Terrace, beneath Central Bridge in central Southampton (SO14 3FE). Established in 2004 and run by the SoCo Music Project — a Southampton-based music charity — it is principally a rehearsal and recording complex with rooms of all sizes, the largest big enough for a full band or a showcase. It doubles as a live/showcase space for grassroots and emerging artists, hosting events such as the EMERGE Festival (March 2026). A 20-year fixture supporting the city's developing-artist scene rather than a conventional gig bar.
