The Eliot Arms is an 18th-century coaching inn in the Port Eliot estate village of St Germans, in the south-east corner of Cornwall — about 30 minutes from Plymouth and 10 minutes from the Whitsand Bay and Downderry coastline. Warm low lighting, candlelit nooks, open fires, proper ales and ciders and two cosy rooms give it real character, and it offers five rooms for an overnight stay. Music is central to the place: a resident acoustic 'jam session' folk night runs every Thursday from 8pm till late — local and visiting musicians are welcome to join in, with free pints for players — and there's at least one live performance most weekends, alongside Fish & Chip Fridays. A genuine grassroots Cornish music pub welcoming both original material and covers.

About The Eliot Arms

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Eliot Arms is a cracking village pub on Fore Street in St Germans, Cornwall (PL12 5NR), and its open mic runs every other Wednesday from 7:30pm, hosted by Jonathan Stafford. It's a genuinely come-as-you-are night — everyone's welcome regardless of ability or taste, and players get a drink on the house for entertaining the room. The pub also has live bands on Sundays from 5pm and an acoustic folk jam on Thursdays, so it's a properly music-friendly spot.
