The Jericho (the Jericho Tavern) at 56 Walton Street in Oxford's bohemian Jericho quarter (OX2 6AE) is one of the city's most storied grassroots music venues. In the late 1980s and early 1990s it was central to the scene that produced Ride, Radiohead (who played here in 1986 as On A Friday) and Supergrass, and the upstairs room has since hosted Foals, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bastille, Ben Howard, Lianne La Havas and many more on their way up. Today it's a big-windowed local pub with a simple menu, a lending library and the largest beer garden in Jericho (21 outdoor tables and booths), still putting on live indie, rock and acoustic gigs.

About The Jericho

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Jericho Tavern on Walton Street is one of Oxford's most storied small venues — Radiohead, Ride and Supergrass all cut their teeth here. Its open mic runs upstairs with a properly kitted stage: a professional PA, drum kit, electric guitar, microphones and both an electric and an acoustic piano, so you can rock up and plug straight in. It's free to play, strictly 18+, and you just drop in and get your name on the list.
