The Cornmarket is one of Liverpool's oldest pubs, tucked almost hidden in the Old Ropery off Fenwick Street in the heart of the business district near the crown courts and stations. The Victorian interior keeps its carved wooden fireplace panels and comfortable Chesterfields, and the pub hosts the Folk North West 'Cornmarket Acoustic' club on the first Tuesday of every month — an open, sing-around folk and acoustic session that moved here from its original Hackins Hey home. A cosy, characterful spot for traditional folk and acoustic music in central Liverpool.

About The Cornmarket

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Cornmarket Acoustic Club is a long-running open-floor night that meets on the first Tuesday of every month from 8pm (get there by 7:30 to bag a slot) at The Cornmarket on Fenwick Street. It leans folk, blues and roots — traditional and contemporary, covers and originals — and the welcome is genuinely warm: as the MC puts it, they 'don't judge', and the audience actually listens. Entry is free, there's a proper PA so poets, instrumentalists and even bands can play on the fly, and the night has been going since it started life at the Cellar Bar back in 2011.
