The Butterfly and the Pig is a basement bar, restaurant and tea room in a Georgian townhouse at 153 Bath Street, Glasgow city centre (G2 4SQ). Established in 2005, the bar area has shabby-chic mismatched furniture and a deep red mahogany floor, and the stage hosts entertainment almost every night: Open Mic on Tuesdays, Live Jazz on Wednesdays, Trad Sessions on Thursdays, a Friday DJ and a live swing/blues band on Saturdays. It serves traditional Scottish food and drink alongside one of the busiest live-music weeks in central Glasgow — strong on jazz, blues, swing and folk for both original and covers acts.

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Butterfly and the Pig is a beloved Glasgow institution on Bath Street, all shabby-chic mismatched furniture, floral patterns and clashing wallpaper. Every Tuesday from 9pm to 11:15pm it hosts a free open-mic session led by Iain Forbes, where all styles and genres are appreciated and everyone's welcome — and if you get up to play a tune or sing a song, you'll be rewarded with a free drink. It's an over-18s night with a relaxed, come-as-you-are feel, equally good whether you're performing or just settling in to listen. One of the warmest weekly open mics in the city centre.
