The Night
The Horse & Groom on Cowbridge High Street, the nearest regular open mic to Rhoose, a few miles up the road in the Vale of Glamorgan, runs its open mic on the first Sunday of every month from 7pm until late. The pub's own page asks you to turn up on the night, put your name down and come prepared with three songs (roughly 15 minutes), and it welcomes performers of all levels: singers, songwriters, guitarists, pianists, rappers and spoken-word artists, solo or in collaboration. It started in 2022 in partnership with SparkPlug Open Mics and is firmly not karaoke. A friendly market-town pub night with a relaxed local crowd. Free to perform and to watch.
