Wangies — originally the Oddfellows Arms and always known locally as 'Wangies' — sits at 305-307 Liverpool Road, Eccles, in the City of Salford. It's a lively, eccentric pub with a rock-pub heart, friendly staff and regular live music at weekends, including band-jam nights that draw a mix of local players. The pub is split into four areas, with two front lounges and a pool table in a back room, and a 2010 change of management brought real ale back, with two changing guest beers. There's a full backline for jamming and gigs, making it an easy spot for grassroots bands and open-jam nights. Opens 2pm midweek and all day at weekends.
