About This Open Mic
The Night
The Riff Corner is a speakeasy-style music bar in Clevedon (just outside Bristol) that runs a pair of monthly jam-and-pizza nights, both starting at 8pm: a Blues Jam on the second Tuesday and a Jazz Jam on the third Tuesday. All instruments and singers are welcome — house PA, piano, drums and backline are all provided, so you really can just bring your weapon of choice. There's also a separate open mic aimed specifically at under-18 musicians, making this a genuinely welcoming first-stage spot.
About The Riff Corner
The Riff Corner is a speakeasy-style live-music bar at 17 Old Church Road in the heart of Clevedon, on the North Somerset coast. Converted from former offices and opened in 2021 (the building was a 19th-century temperance cafe), it pours local draught beers, ales, ciders, cocktails and wine, and likens itself to a 1920s speakeasy. Live music runs most weeknights and on Sunday afternoons, with an open mic every Tuesday and jazz on Thursdays, alongside arts nights, poetry, workshops, music tuition and film screenings. Both local acts and touring artists have played the small stage, and the venue offers a high standard of largely free entertainment each month, making it a genuine grass-roots hub for the Clevedon/Bristol scene.
