The Night

The ‌‌‍Ferret is Preston's best-loved grassroots music venue, and its open mic runs on the first Tuesday of every month, hosted by Jamie Brewer, throwing the stage open to local musicians and bands to road-test new material. Slots run from 7pm and are first-come, first-served, so turn up early; it's free to get in and to play. The backline is properly kitted out — house PA, mics, drum kit, bass amp and guitar amp are all provided (drummers bring your own breakables) — on the same stage that's hosted everyone from IDLES to Catfish and the Bottlemen.

About The Ferret

The ‌‌‍Ferret is a 200-capacity grassroots music venue in the heart of Preston's student village, renowned for bringing alternative live music to the city across 200+ gigs a year. It has hosted everyone from IDLES and Catfish and the Bottlemen to Bob Vylan and a young Ed Sheeran, alongside open-mic nights, occasional theatre and special themed evenings. An 18+ room with booth seating, a standing area, a craft-beer bar and a rear beer garden.

Planning Your Tuesday Night
