Riff Factory was founded in 2013 by Tom Carter and Ant Hulme as an affordable recording studio and rehearsal space on Sutherland Street, Stoke-on-Trent. From July 2024 part of the building was renovated into a DIY gig venue, which opened with a week of five shows in October 2025.
It now describes itself as a live music venue, recording studio and rehearsal rooms in one. The gig calendar mixes original bands with tribute nights, from pop punk and grunge to The Beatles, plus the occasional drum and bass night.
Shows are booked one at a time on different nights rather than a fixed weekly slot, mostly in the evening.
