The Lughole is a not-for-profit DIY venue run by volunteers, now in a converted joinery workshop on Harvest Lane in Neepsend. It was started in 2013 by four punk fans fed up with the lack of affordable gig and rehearsal space in Sheffield, and it has become one of the best-loved punk rooms in the country.
Expect punk, hardcore and alternative bands from all over the world, alongside local acts - the venue hosts the Noise Annoys festival each spring and is part of the Tramlines fringe. The non-profit ethos keeps tickets and bar prices low. It's a members' club, so you'll need to be a member or come as a member's guest.
Bands wanting to play should email the collective; there's an event-booking page on the website too. In 2026 the venue has been fundraising to cover a business rates bill, so turning up and buying a ticket genuinely helps keep it going.
