Lucky Strike is a dive bar on Mitchell Street in the middle of Glasgow, in the old August House unit. Upstairs is pool, pinball, graffiti-covered walls, cocktails and cantina-style food; downstairs is the basement event space where the bands play.
It opened at the end of 2024 with the aim of being a grassroots music venue as much as a bar, with live bands each weekend and line-ups drawn from Glasgow's own scene. Promoter series such as Off the Grid have run shows in the downstairs room.
For local bands it's a natural first or second city-centre gig. Approach the venue by email or through Instagram to ask about the downstairs room. Walk-ins only for the bar, dogs welcome, and under-18s until 8pm.
