The Star Inn is a tile-hung village pub beside the green and pond in Matfield, on the Maidstone Road between Paddock Wood and Tunbridge Wells. Inside there is wood panelling, beams, a small flagstone dining area with a wood burner, a snug and a spacious rear function room. It serves hearty pub food including its signature pies, with Harveys Sussex Best Bitter, Tonbridge Traditional Ale and Sharps Doom Bar as regular cask beers. Music is occasional rather than nightly, with the monthly open mic and booked acts on selected Saturdays.
