Even Flow sits in the St John's area of Tunbridge Wells and wears two hats: a bright, family-friendly speciality-coffee spot and record store by day, and a hub of creativity and community by night, with supper clubs, creative workshops and music events. The open mic runs on the last Sunday of every month from 4.30pm to 7.30pm, a £2 cover charge that is waived if you are performing, and it is welcoming to singers, poets and performers alike. It takes a summer break, with no open mic in June, July or August. Booking a table ahead is recommended, though turning up on the night is fine. With craft beer, cider, wine and a wall of new and second-hand records, it is a genuinely welcoming little home for local performers. There is a second Even Flow at Ely Court, Royal Victoria Place, but the open mic is at the St John's Road shop.

The Night
Even Flow is a coffee shop and creative space on St John's Road that turns into a music and supper-club hub by night, hosting a monthly open mic on the last Sunday of the month from 4.30pm to 7.30pm — though note it doesn't run in June, July or August. You can come as a performer or just as a spectator: there's a £2 cover charge (free if you're performing), with food, craft beer and gin to go with the music.
