The Shooting Star is an award-winning cocktail bar and music venue at 40-42 Bevois Valley Road, Southampton (SO14 0JR), firmly geared to Bevois Valley's night-time music trade. Expect frequent live DJs and occasional bands — it's home to the likes of legendary DJ Hammy, Gary 'oke Myles, Dear Catastrophe Radio, Aggro-Culture and The Vintage Alternative, with alternative DJs every Friday and Saturday. It runs late (until 2am Friday and Saturday) with a £2 entry after 10pm on selected nights, and offers six pool tables, a big beer garden and its famous 'Hobbit' cocktails.
