The Plough is a proper Tilehurst local on School Road (RG31 5AW) on the western edge of Reading, and it is the long-running home of the 'Sunday night at the Ploughdium' open mic and jam sessions, held every Sunday from 7.30pm with live music always free. Beyond the weekly jam it occasionally puts on a full live band, roughly once or twice a month. It is a community boozer at heart — darts, pool, a large garden and smoking area used for outdoor events through the summer, one regular and one rotating cask ale (Loddon Hocus Pocus a favourite) and home-made rolls rather than a full kitchen. A PA is provided for the Sunday session, making it a friendly, no-frills grassroots spot for both first-timers and regulars to get up and play.

About The Plough

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Plough on Tilehurst's 'Triangle' (78 School Road, Reading RG31 5AW) runs the 'Sunday night at the Ploughdium' open mic and jam, every Sunday from 7:30pm — and it's always free. It's a proper locals' pub with darts, pool, a big back garden and home-made rolls, hosted by Robin and Janet, so the night is relaxed, friendly and as much jam as solo spot. Bring your instrument, sign up on the night and join in.
