The Wedgewood Rooms is an independent live music venue on Albert Road in Southsea, Portsmouth, with a main-room capacity of 400 standing (280 seated). Open since the early 1990s, 'The Wedge' has been nominated three times for the NME Best Small Venue award and regularly hosts national and international touring acts across rock, alternative, indie and punk, plus comedy, club and tribute nights. The attached smaller room, The Edge of the Wedge, holds 100 standing / 60 seated and is the home for emerging local acts, smaller touring bands and DJs. The venue runs an in-house FOH and lighting rig (full tech specs published for visiting acts) with a raised 2ft 6in stage, two dressing rooms and an artist toilet at stage right.

The Night
The Wedgewood Rooms is Southsea's beloved 400-capacity independent live music venue, open since 1992. Its open-mic night is GRAB DA MIC — billed as Portsmouth's longest-running hip-hop night — a monthly open cypher where anyone can step up to rap over a live DJ spinning boom-bap, classic hip-hop, grime, garage and rap. Doors are at 7pm, entry is £4, and it's all-ages (under-14s with an adult).
