The Malt Shovel is a busy, friendly traditional pub at 1 Union Street, Beeston, Nottingham (NG9 2LU), close to Beeston High Street. It runs a strong grassroots music calendar: live music from local bands every other Saturday, an open mic night every Sunday (with a free drink for every performer), and additional fortnightly open mics from 7:30pm. With real ale, homemade pub food, a garden, outside seating and a car park, it's a welcoming room for Beeston originals and covers players. It has also hosted Oxjam Beeston festival stages.

About The Malt Shovel

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Malt Shovel is a cask-led community local in the heart of Beeston, and it runs a fortnightly Tuesday open mic from 7:30pm. It's a proper real-ale pub — multiple changing ales, outdoor seating, a Sunday roast and a regular quiz — so the open mic comes with a friendly, unpretentious crowd. Entry is free; just turn up and put your name down on the night. As it runs every other Tuesday rather than weekly, check the pub's Facebook or Instagram (@themaltshovelbeeston) for the next date before heading down.
