The Old Ale House is a much-loved real-ale pub at 7 Quay Street in the centre of Truro (TR1 2HD) — 'Nuts about Beer & Music'. It runs one of Cornwall's busiest grass-roots music diaries: a Jam Night every Monday, the Akoostica Open Mic every other Thursday from 8pm, live music every Friday and Saturday from 9pm, monthly Truro Folk Sessions (first Tuesday) and a monthly open-mic jazz night, plus the Nuts Comedy Club on the second Tuesday. The music spans acoustic, folk, blues and jazz, with a house PA for performers and a policy that welcomes both originals and covers. Part of the Cornwall Cider Co. family.

The Old Ale House on Quay Street is a much-loved Truro pub that's serious about both its beer and its music. Its 'Akoostica' open mic runs on alternate Thursdays, kicking off at 8pm, with the sign-up list opening at 7.30 on the night — it's free to join in and all are welcome, with mainly acoustic acts across many genres.
