The Amersham Arms sits at 388 New Cross Road in south-east London (SE14), a historic mid-19th-century pub with original wood panelling and the iconic red neon 'Take Courage' sign out front. Behind the bar is a roughly 300-capacity live room that runs a busy week of gigs, club nights, DJs, stand-up comedy, poetry and film evenings. It's a fixture of the New Cross grassroots circuit — it hosted a sold-out Nova Twins show on 27 January 2026 as part of Independent Venue Week, and its 2026 calendar keeps booking touring indie, rock and alternative acts alongside emerging local talent. The venue takes both original artists and covers, runs a house PA, and pairs the gig room with food and a beer garden.
