Stroud Brewery's taproom sits along the canal at Kingfisher Business Park on London Road in Brimscombe, and runs a genuinely buzzing community music calendar. There is an open mic on the fourth Wednesday of the month - bring a voice or an instrument, or just have a beer and enjoy the talents of others - plus a Wednesday Morning Music acoustic jam at 10.30am on the balcony bar with different guests each week. The Five Valleys Folk Session takes the first and third Friday of the month for Irish and Scottish folk songs with a variety of instruments, and Community Jam on the second Sunday invites musicians and songwriters to share their work, with a full drum kit, keyboard and two amps provided so you can just plug in and play. A welcoming, all-ages spot that puts grassroots and traditional music front and centre.
