The Scallion is an award-winning bar and restaurant in Glasgow's West End at 185 Great Western Road (G4 9EB), and was named Scotland's Best Pub in 2025. Open from noon seven days a week, it pairs proper food — stone-baked pizzas and loaded Sunday roasts — with a buzzing, welcoming atmosphere. There's always something on: soulful singers and local bands, weekend DJs, a jukebox, pool, darts, pub quizzes and live sport. With a snug capacity of around 70, it's an intimate West End spot well suited to acoustic acts and small bands.

The Night
The Scallion is a lively gastropub and bar at 185 Great Western Road in Glasgow's West End, and its open mic runs every Thursday evening. In the venue's own words: "Step up and grab the mic or sit back and enjoy — our open mic nights are all about local talent and laid-back vibes", with "everything from acoustic sets to unexpected gems, all with a Scallion pint in hand". The venue's homepage says the night starts from 8pm while its weekly line-up page says from 9pm, so aim for 8pm and expect music to build from there. The rest of the week is entertainment-led too — quiz every Tuesday from 8:30pm, free pool on Wednesdays, a trad band on Fridays from 9pm and live music on Saturdays from 9pm — plus a jukebox, photobooth and Sunday roasts.
