The Carpenters Arms is a village pub in the centre of Westwoodside, on the corner of the B1396 on the road to Haxey. It has a bar with a pool table, a lounge with a rear snug, a covered courtyard and a beer garden, and keeps three cask ales. It is a community local that runs an open mic night, a weekly quiz and occasional live entertainment, with street-food vans in place of a kitchen.

The Night
The Carpenters Arms, known locally as The Carps, holds an open mic night on the second Sunday of the month, with live entertainment on some weekends. Doncaster CAMRA named it District Pub of the Season in its Autumn 2026 magazine, which confirms the night, and the same magazine's Winter 2025 issue reported it too, so it has been running for at least a year. The start time is not published, so check the pub's Facebook page. Westwoodside is about 12 miles east of Doncaster on the Isle of Axholme.
