The Town Wall Tavern is one of the few remaining traditional locals in Coventry city centre, tucked behind the Belgrade Theatre on Bond Street (CV1 4AH) and long frequented by actors and theatre staff. After a brief closure announcement in late 2025 the pub was saved by an outpouring of community support and the landlord confirmed it would stay open. It runs a busy entertainment week: live music on Saturdays, karaoke on Fridays and a Sunday open-mic night that has become genuinely popular and is one of the most-recommended starter mics in the city. The room is small (roughly 50 capacity), with a PA and at least one vocal mic provided — best suited to solo songwriters, duos and acoustic acts. Sign-up is walk-in on the night, no advance booking.

The Night
The Town Wall Tavern is a historic city-centre pub on Bond Street in Coventry, reopened in early 2025, whose Sunday open mic - hosted by Rich Keogh - quickly became one of the city's most-recommended starter nights for new performers. The PUB ITSELF IS NOW CLOSED: CAMRA records it as closed from 26 July 2026 and closed long term from 27 July 2026, seeking new tenants, so the Sunday open mic is not running. We've kept the page up because pubs like this do reopen - check before turning up to play. Rich Keogh also hosts an open mic at The Squirrel on Grey Friars Lane in the meantime.
