The Somerville Arms is an unspoilt Victorian street-corner local from 1864 in north-east Leamington, ten minutes' walk from the town centre, with a well-loved grassroots music programme that is free of charge throughout. The monthly open mic - the Stopwatch Sessions, on the first Tuesday - is open to all, with everyone getting around a 15-minute slot. The rest of the month takes in a Flamenco night on the second Wednesday, celtic-and-Americana regulars The Quiet Men on the last Thursday from 8.30pm, a bring-your-own-vinyl turntable every Thursday, and booked live music ranging from motown and blues to 60s and Irish nights. Quiz night is every Monday from 8pm. A proper community pub with real ales, a garden and a genuine welcome.
