Accidental Theatre is an independent arts venue at 12–13 Shaftesbury Square in central Belfast (BT2 7DB) — a refuge for collaborative work spanning theatre, music, art, dance and unclassifiable live performance. The main theatre seats around 100 (plus a 30-capacity Book Bar), and the venue runs a monthly experimental music night of short sets with room to chat and move, alongside gigs, comedy and theatre. A flexible, artist-led black-box space welcoming to original and emerging performers.

The Night
Accidental Theatre's Cosmic Jam is a wonderfully chilled open-mic-and-jam night on the first Thursday of every month, starting at 7.30pm (BYOB) at their Shaftesbury Square home. It's built for experimentation — there's a full backline of instruments and mics in the room, slots run 10 minutes or less, and there's space to jam with whoever else turns up. A performance slot is £5, booked online in advance, and the team record every set, handing you the stems and video for free afterwards.
