The Oh Yeah Music Centre at 15-21 Gordon Street is a not-for-profit cornerstone of Belfast's music scene, housed in a former bonded whiskey warehouse in the Cathedral Quarter. Since opening in 2007 it has combined a 290-capacity performance space with a drop-in area, office units, a recording studio and a music exhibition celebrating Northern Ireland's heritage (Snow Patrol, Van Morrison, Stiff Little Fingers and more). The programme runs gigs, showcases, music conferences, workshops and record fairs, supporting both emerging and established artists with rehearsal and recording facilities and development schemes. The room carries a full Setmixer live-capture rig so acts leave with multitrack recordings of their set, and it won Music Week's Grassroots Venue 'Spirit of the Scene' Award in 2024. About This Open Mic
The Night
Oh Yeah Music Centre on Gordon Street is Belfast's not-for-profit music hub, and its open mic is deliberately different: the Youth Open Mic is an all-ages afternoon for performers under 18 — Belfast's only open mic built specifically for young musicians to gain confidence in front of a supportive audience, away from the pub circuit. It runs roughly one Sunday every two months (occasionally a Saturday), midday to mid-afternoon — the most recent was Sunday 16 August 2026, 12pm to 3pm. Original songs and covers are both welcome, and it's geared to singer-songwriters rather than full bands, with a maximum of two performers per slot. Admission is £3 plus booking fee, tickets via Skiddle, and supporters, family and anyone who wants to hear new talent are welcome in the audience.
