The Plough is a Farnham pub at 74 West Street built around fine ales, gourmet food from the resident Hungry Boys kitchen, and a packed line-up of free live music. Bands and artists play every Friday and Saturday night, and there's an open jam night every Wednesday, so musicians have a regular slot to turn up and play. It pours Shepherd & Name ales and mixes cocktails, with a spacious heated patio leading to a large walled garden and a fireplace for the colder months. With a house PA, no ticket charge and a roughly 90-capacity room welcoming originals and covers alike, it's a genuinely active grassroots hub in Surrey.

About The Plough

About This Open Mic
The Night
The Plough on West Street (GU9 7EH) is back. The pub closed in March 2026, but Shepherd Neame found a new tenant and reopened it on Friday 5 June 2026 - and the Wednesday jam night came back with it. In the pub's own words, the jam night every Wednesday keeps things ticking along, welcoming anyone who fancies getting involved or just enjoying the atmosphere: an open, turn-up-and-play session rather than a formal sign-up list. The rest of the week is booked entertainment, with live DJs every Friday and live music every Saturday and Sunday, so Wednesday is the night for players. There's been a pub on this spot since the early 1800s, and the reopening was pitched squarely at bringing it back to the community with good food, great drinks and live music.
