About This Open Mic
The Night
The Tin Music and Arts open mic runs on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, 7pm till 10pm, in a converted coal-storage building down in Coventry's 18th-century canal basin (Coal Vaults, Canal Basin, CV1 4LY). It's a proper set-up — fully sound-engineered with a full band backline, so you can plug in and go. Entry is just £1; sign up at the venue before 7:30pm or book your slot via their Facebook page. A genuinely lovely, atmospheric room and one of the best-equipped open mics in the Midlands.
About The Tin Music & Arts
The Tin Music & Arts is an independent live-music venue and arts centre at Coventry Canal Basin (CV1 4LY), a short walk from the city centre. With a standing capacity of around 150, the room hosts a busy, genuinely eclectic programme — Turkish alternative rock, shoegaze and modern psychedelia, folk, punk and showcase nights for Coventry's youngest musicians, with ticket prices typically in the £7–£15 range. A long-running free folk open mic runs on Thursdays, and the venue actively books both original acts and covers. House PA, guitar amp and piano are provided for performers.
