How do I sell tickets for my event?
You choose who sells the ticket. Every event has this box — headed Tickets on Create Event and Ticketing on the event's own page — with a switch between two modes:
- GigXchange Ticketing — sell here, with QR entry and door scanning
- 3rd Party Ticketing — send buyers to Skiddle, DICE, the venue's own site, or anywhere else people actually buy
A new event starts in 3rd Party Ticketing. Add the link to the page where people buy; leave it empty if it is pay on the door. The box always tells you what buyers will see once you publish — your own link, or no way to buy online — so you can fix it before it goes live.
To sell through GigXchange, switch the box to GigXchange Ticketing. Save the event, then open it and press Add Tier — a name such as Early Bird or VIP, a price and a quantity. Until a tier exists, Add Tier is the only control there; once one does, the Ticket Tiers list appears along with Guest List and Scan Tickets for the door. Buyers press Buy Tickets on your public event page. Until at least one tier exists, buyers still get your third-party links.
A fee applies to ticket sales through GigXchange — see is GigXchange free?. If you sell on Eventbrite, you can also push the event there.
