How do I create an event?
Open Events and choose Create Event. On a phone, tap your profile picture at the top right, then Events. Artist, venue, agent and promoter accounts can create events; organiser accounts cannot, as they do not have the Events section.
Fill in the page from the top:
- Event details — an Event title and a Date are required; the type, description, times and expected attendance are optional.
- Genres — pick the sounds that fit the night.
- Venue — see choosing a venue for your event.
- Tickets — see selling tickets for your event.
Already booked the act through GigXchange? Under Start from a booking, press Create from an existing booking and the event takes that booking's details.
Add a cover photo with Upload photo or Image library at the top right of the cover preview (on a phone these are an upload-arrow icon and a picture icon), then drag the photo to frame it.
When you are ready, press Publish Event at the bottom of the cover preview, beside Save as Draft. It stays greyed out until you have an Event title and a Date. It then shows on the Events page for other members to find. Not ready? Press Save as Draft — drafts stay off the Events page.
My Events lists everything you have created, with tabs for Published and Draft. Open an event to change it: press Edit Event, make your changes, then Save Event. To back out without saving, use Cancel inside the card — not Cancel Event, which cancels the event itself. A draft also has a publish icon — an upward arrow in the page header (hovering says Publish event). The share icon at the end of that row, just before Back (hovering says Share event), gives you the event's link.
