Times Square is Newcastle's open-air event arena, sitting beside the Life Centre in the heart of the city. It runs a programme all year round — the Live From Times Square concert series fills the square through the summer, while a pop-up ice rink takes over in winter. With a capacity of around 400, the open-air bowl has hosted indie, rock and pop bills from the likes of The Wombats, Red Rum Club, Circa Waves and The Enemy. It also doubles as a fan-zone and festival site for the city's bigger outdoor events.
