The Briton's Protection is one of Manchester's most iconic Grade II-listed pubs, dating to 1806 and sitting on Great Bridgewater Street near the Oxford Road Corridor. Independently owned and sympathetically restored since 2014, it is celebrated for its Regency charm, largely intact 1930s interior of six public rooms, and a collection of over 300 whiskies from the US, Ireland, Scotland and Japan. Its ample upstairs function room doubles as an intimate live music and poetry space, hosting bands, plays, comedy and spoken word.
