About The Lowry
The Lowry is a grassroots music venue in Salford Quays, Salford with a standing capacity of approximately 200. Bring your own PA, mics and instruments.
The Lowry is a landmark, award-winning arts centre on Salford Quays in Greater Manchester, opened in 2000 and named after the painter L. S. Lowry. The complex houses two theatres, a drama studio, art galleries, cafés, bars and a restaurant. Its main auditorium, the Lyric, seats 1,730 — the largest stage in the UK outside the West End — while the Quays Theatre seats 440. Both are fully equipped for live music and concerts alongside West End musicals, drama, comedy, dance and opera; recent and forthcoming music and comedy bills have featured artists such as Imelda May and Larry Dean. This is a major receiving house rather than a grass-roots room — the source listing's mislabelling as a London 'BYO PA' venue is incorrect.
