Whittles ‌‌‍(Whittles @ Tokyo Project) is a grass-roots live-music venue in the heart of Oldham, occupying the former Tokyo Project / 'Tokes' nightclub on Roscoe Street, where it reopened in November 2019 under the banner 'Where Music Matters'. It programmes all kinds of live music — from unsigned and emerging local talent to tribute acts, taking in classic rock, pop, indie, soul and ska — across an indoor room holding around 250 plus an outdoor space that lifts the total capacity to roughly 450. With its multi-room heritage and busy gig calendar (including names like Finley Quaye), it's one of the town's key independent music spaces.
