Glasgow's Grand Ole Opry opened as a Country & Western club in 1974 and still has live music every Friday and Saturday. Its calendar names a band for those nights through to December 2026, with acts including Ellis County, Stillwater, Stateline and Deep River.
The club is a members club, non-profit and run mostly by volunteers, set up to promote and support live country music. It has also hosted Lloyd Cole, Franz Ferdinand, Celtic Connections and the Americana Festival of Music.
The building at Paisley Road Toll became the Imperial Picture Hall in 1921, and the layout is largely unchanged from its cinema days, with a mezzanine that gives overspill seating on busy evenings. The Opry takes cash only.
