Irwell Works Brewery occupies a restored Victorian steam-powered works on Irwell Street in Ramsbottom, brewing its own range of cask ales with a first-floor tap room overlooking the town. It is a characterful, popular spot a short walk from the East Lancs Railway station.
The open mic runs on the second Wednesday of each month from 8pm to 11pm, hosted by The Impromptunes. It is free, sign-up is walk-in on the night, and a PA system is provided - all genres are welcome, from acoustic singer-songwriters to full-band-voiced covers.
The night gets very busy, so performers are advised to arrive early to be sure of a slot.
